MACON, Ga. – Gardner-Webb’s Lindsey Gladhill and JU’s Michelle Kmiotek were announced as weekly winners of the Atlantic Sun Conference women’s soccer accolades. Gladhill helped Gardner-Webb extend their season-opening unbeaten streak to four after piling up four goals and an assist in two matches.
The junior dished out an assist in the opening score of the 3-1 win over Furman before launching a shot from 25 yards out for the insurance goal in the final minute. In the team’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Mississippi State, the Thurmont, Md., native tallied all three goals. Gladhill is tied for the league lead with five goals while pacing the conference in both points (13) and assists (3). She is majoring in Drama & Physical Education.
Kmiotek recorded 21 saves in three matches while posting two consecutive shut out victories over Florida International and LaSalle. The Tampa, Fla., native made six saves against both Florida International and Navy. Kmiotek was forced to make nine saves in the team’s overtime win against LaSalle. The senior leads the A-Sun in both shutouts and saves. Kmiotek majors in Physical Education.

The 12-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, UNF and Stetson with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate beginning competition in 2007-08.
