UNF's Forson and JU's Orr Garner A-Sun Weekly Awards

MACON, Ga. UNFs Courtney Forson and Jacksonvilles Katie Orr claimed the leagues weekly awards as announced on Monday afternoon. The two players will go head-to-head on Friday night in the A-Sun Match of the Week at the Ashley Sports Complex.
Forson is the second Osprey to win Player of the Week honors in as many chances. The senior was a catalyst for UNF all weekend as the Ospreys extended their win streak to four matches heading into the opening week of conference play. Forson had a hand in six of the Lady Ospreys seven goals this weekend. On Friday, she scored UNF's first goal and assisted on the game-winning goal in the final second of the game to secure a 2-1 win over College of Charleston. On Sunday, Forson netted two goals and added two assists as the Lady Ospreys routed South Carolina State 5-0. The St. Augustine, Fla., native ranks third in both goals and points in the A-Sun. Forson majors in Management and Marketing.
Orr led the Dolphins to two straight wins this weekend and the Kick Out Cancer Tournament title. The London, Ontario native organized the back four to turn in their fourth shutout of the year against Elon. Orr was dominate in the air the entire weekend and closed down the reigning Player of the Week in the America East Conference, Jessica Young, shutting her out after she scored her league leading fifth goal of the season against Stetson on Friday night. The sophomore majors in Physical Education.
The Atlantic Sun Conference hands out offensive and defensive Player of the Week awards weekly during the 2006 soccer campaign.
The 12-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, UNF and Stetson with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate beginning competition in 2007-08.
