KENNESAW, Ga. – A goal in the first half by Jacksonville's Keri Zwikker was
all the Dolphins needed to win the 2006 Atlantic Sun Women's Soccer Championship
Saturday night at the KSU Soccer Complex. Jacksonville upset No. 2 Stetson 1-0,
becoming the first No. 5 seed to ever win the tournament.
At the 19:01 mark, Zwikker tapped in a loose ball rebounded off the crossbar
to put the Dolphins up 1-0. Stetson out shot Jacksonville 11-3 in the first
half, but could not find the back of the net.
In the second half, the match went back and forth, with Stetson getting off
seven shots. The Dolphins lone chance for an insurance goal came at 14:45, but
was scooped up by Stetson goalie April Eilering. Meanwhile, the JU defense kept
the charging Hatters at bay.
Eilering had two saves, Jacksonville's Michelle Kmiotek had eight.
Earning its first championship victory since 2000, Jacksonville had four players
named to the All-Tournament team, including the tournament MVP. Stetson had
four players earn All-Tournament honors.
The Dolphins earned the A-Sun's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Women's

show it airs Monday, November 6 at 3 pm on ESPNews.
