KSU’s Shkundina Receives Second A-Sun Weekly Award

MACON, Ga. – Vera Shkundina paced Kennesaw State with both singles and doubles wins as the Owls claimed a 3-1 mark on the week. For her performance, Shkundina claimed the second Player of the Week award of her career, the conference office announced Wednesday.

During the tremendous week for the Owls’ No. 1 singles player, Shkundina went 2-1 in doubles and stands undefeated at No. 1 singles with a 3-0 mark, including a straight-set win against Monica Pezzotti of USC Upstate.

Aline Berkenbrock, UNF (So. - No. 1 Singles - Sao Bernardo de Campo, Brazil - Nutrition) – Berkenbrock picked up two hard fought three set wins over the weekend in the No. 1 spot for UNF. The sophomore nutrition major defeated Florida A&M’s Rachel Pye on Friday before following that up with a win against recently ranked Holly Dowse of College of Charleston on Sunday.
