Melanie Aguirre and Simona Weymar won singles and doubles matches. UNF put on a powerful display in closing out the Camels quickly and efficiently in both singles and doubles. Weymar and Aline Berkenbrock beat Lisa Sutton and Dominek Wallaart 8-4 at No. 1 doubles to begin the competition; Aguirre and Danielle Day soon followed with an 8-6 win on Court 2 against Karolina Chernaya and Borislava Nikolova to give the Ospreys a 1-0 lead in the match. Aguirre, Victoria Krook and Weymar dispatched, respectively, Nikolova, Heather Robinson and Anais Gomar by a combined games score of 36-7 through the middle of the singles lineup, ending the match in UNF’s favor 4-0. The Ospreys, who had to defeat sixth-seeded Jacksonville in yesterday’s quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals, become the first team seeded third or lower to make the A-Sun finals in women's tennis since 2005, when fourth seed FAU defeated No. 3 Stetson in the championship match. UNF and regular-season champion ETSU meet in the A-Sun tournament final for the second year in a row at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mandy Stoll Tennis Center; the Ospreys claimed a 4-1 win over the Lady Bucs in last season’s title match at the same site. The winner will receive the A-Sun’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
