A-Sun All-Tournament Team honoree Paula Jaime earned the match-clinching point for the Lady Bucs (15-6) while her doubles partner Karina Kedzo was named A-Sun Tournament Most Valuable Player.

ETSU seized control of the match in doubles, where Jaime and Kedzo dropped Aline Berkenbrock and Simona Weymar 8-3 on Court 1 and the Kelly Holtzhausen/Marlene Wieliczko pair finished off the first Lady Buc point with an 8-6 defeat of UNF’s Melanie Aguirre and Danielle Day on Court 2.

In singles action, Holtzhausen raced past Berkenbrock 6-2, 6-1 at the top of the lineup and Kedzo stopped Weymar 6-1, 6-4 to quickly put ETSU up 3-0 and one point away from revenge against the Ospreys (15-7), who defeated them on the same courts in the 2010 tournament title match. Court 2’s match went to a second-set tiebreaker where Jaime delivered the final blow, knocking off Day 6-2, 7-6 to touch off the ETSU celebration.

ETSU will learn its NCAA Tournament fate during the selection show set for Tuesday, May 3 at 5 p.m. Fans can watch the announcement on NCAA.com.
