Friday, May 13, 2011 CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (May 13, 2011) – Facing its toughest test of the season, the ETSU women’s tennis team fell to No. 4-ranked North Carolina, 4-0, Friday afternoon in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center. North Carolina (24-5), the Atlantic Coast Conference champions, jumped out to a quick start in doubles, using the All-America duo and No. 7-ranked doubles team of Shinann Featherston and Lauren McHale to cruise past Paula Jaime (Madrid, Spain) and Karina Kedzo (Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) on court one, 8-1. Jelena Durisic and Tessa Lyons then defeated the ETSU duo of Kelly Holtzhausen (Johannesburg, South Africa) and Marine Wieliczko (Rouen, France) at No. 2, 8-3, to clinch the doubles point. |
