MACON, Ga. – North Florida's Lorena Aviles picked up her second career Atlantic Sun Women's Tennis weekly award as she guided the Ospreys to a 7-0 sweep of Bethune-Cookman in the season opener.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Lorena Aviles, North Florida (Sr. – Guayaquil, Ecuador – International Business)
- Second Career A-Sun Player of the Week honor; first this season
- Led Ospreys to sweep of Bethune-Cookman to open the season
- Won at No. 1 singles; 6-3, 6-2, vs. Chinatsu Kajiwara
- Added victory at No. 1 doubles with Melanie Aguirre, 8-1
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Isabel Dennis (Fr., Mercer) - Won both matches in singles and No. 1 doubles
- Alexandra Apostu (Jr., Kennesaw State) - Swept her doubles and singles matches against Chattanooga
