Spartans' Kuerten Claims Second Career #ASunWTen Honor

MACON, Ga. – USC Upstate's Constanze Kuerten gave the Spartans three-straight Atlantic Sun Women's Tennis Player of the Week honors after a perfect 4-0 week. Kuerten guided the Spartans to wins vs. Coastal Carolina and Converse.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Constanze Kuerten, USC Upstate
(Fr. – Dusseldorf, Germany – Business Administration)
  • Second Career A-Sun Player of the Week honor; third-straight for Spartans
  • Recorded another 4-0 week with wins vs. Coastal Carolina and Converse
  • Won both singles matches at the No. 3 spot; 6-0, 6-2
  • Added wins in doubles play with Allison Beeler; 8-0 and 8-4
  • Moved to 6-2 in singles play and 7-1 in doubles action
OTHER NOMINEES:
  • Andrea Crespo (Fr., Stetson) - Won at No. 1 singles; 6-1, 6-2, vs. Florida A&M
  • Simona Weymar (Jr., North Florida) - Went 3-0 at No. 2 singles in matches; never dropped a set
  • Alyssa Bellini (Jr., Lipscomb) - Teamed with Lorena Djuknic to win double matches vs. Murray State and UT Martin
  • Antonia Kolovou (Sr., ETSU) - Helped Bucs to two wins with 2-0 mark in singles play and 2-0 in doubles
