FGCU's Means Captures First Career #ASunWTen Honor

MACON, Ga. – FGCU's Sarah Means earned her first career Atlantic Sun Women's Tennis Player of the Week honor, announced Wednesday by the league office. Means guided the Eagles to three wins including two in conference play.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

  • First Career A-Sun Player of the Week honor; fourth in program history
  • Won all three singles matches at No. 1 spot vs. NKU, Lipscomb and Green Bay
  • Led Eagles to 3-0 week and 2-0 start to A-Sun play
  • Added three doubles victories at No. 3
  • Only lost three games in three singles matches
OTHER NOMINEES:
  • Lorena Aviles (Sr., North Florida) - Led UNF to sweeps of Kennesaw State and Mercer with wins at No. 1 singles
  • Sara Lazarevic (Sr., Stetson) - Went 3-0 in singles play at No. 2 singles; dropped only nine games
  • Lyn Yee Choo (Fr., ETSU) - Extended winning streak to seven matches; defeated USC Upstate and Western Carolina
