Kolovou Takes #ASunWTen Award; Bucs in First Place

MACON, Ga. – ETSU's Antonia Kolovou improved her record at No. 1 singles to 9-1 on the year as she earned the Atlantic Sun Women's Tennis Player of the Week honor, announced Wednesday by the league office. Kolovou posted wins at the top singles spot vs. Stetson and FGCU.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

 (Sr. – Larisa, Greece – Kinesiology)

  • First Career A-Sun Player of the Week honor; second for ETSU this season
  • Defeated top singles player from Stetson and FGCU
  • Downed Stetson's Andrea Crespo; 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (8-6)
  • Added a win vs. FGCU's Sarah Means; 6-2, 5-7, 6-3
  • Improved to 11-1 in duals and 9-1 at No. 1 singles

OTHER NOMINEES:

  • Virginie Stein (So., Kennesaw State) – Went 4-0 on the week in back-to-back win for Kennesaw State in league play
  • Taylor Cohen (Jr., USC Upstate) – Posted a 4-0 record in wins vs. FGCU and Stetson sits at 8-6 in singles play
