GAINESVILLE, Fla - The Cinderella season for the JU women's tennis team came to an end on Saturday morning as the No. 71 Dolphins fell to No. 4 Florida, 4-0, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Jacksonville (19-4) saw its 16-match winning streak come to an end as the Gators took the doubles point and swept the No. 4, 5 and 6 singles matches.

"We came out today and left everything on the court," said JU head coach Jarod Camerota. "Florida is a very good team and they showed why today. I'm proud of everything that our team has accomplished this year and look forward to building upon this next year."

The Gators (22-2) took the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and 3. The No. 3 match was the first to be completed with Florida's Megan Alexander and Anastasia Revzina knocking off Fernando Carrero and Cristina Paiva-Flor, 8-0.

In the No. 1 match, Florida's Diana Srebovic and Csilla Borsanyi, ranked 23rd in the country, beat the Dolphin duo of Emese Sulyos and Lena Willi, 8-2, to seal the point.

In the singles action, Borsanyi, ranked 58th nationally cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Carrero at the No. 5 position to give Florida a 2-0 lead.

The lead was extended to 3-0 when Whitney Benik won 6-0, 6-0 over Paiva-Flor in the No. 6 match.

The Gators sealed the match with Nina Suvak's win at the No. 4 match. Suvak, ranked 122nd nationally, beat Iva Jaresova, 6-0, 6-1.

While the rest of the singles matches weren't completed, the Dolphins were getting a great effort from Tatiana Soldatova in the No. 3 position. Soldatova trailed Revzina, ranked 92nd nationally, 7-5 when the winning point was clinched.
