Hogan Nets First Career Player of the Week

MACON, Ga. - Belmont freshman Abbey Hogan notched the clinching point in each of the Bruins' two wins last week, upping her singles record to 6-2 for the season. On Wednesday, the conference office awarded Hogan her first career Player of the Week honor.

Hogan was instrumental in Belmont’s two wins this weekend as she won the clinching match in both contests. Playing number five position on both days, she defeated Lyndsay Ottosen of Murray State 6-3, 6-4 to seal the 4-3 victory for the Bruins on Friday and then beat Allie Cox of Evansville in three sets on Saturday 7-6, 5-7, 6-0 to clinch the 4-3 win for Belmont. In addition, the Houston, Texas native went 2-0 in doubles with partner Abby Leatherwood.

Mackenzie Swindall, Kennesaw State (Stone Mountain, Ga. – Fr. – Undeclared) – The freshman from Northview High School went 2-0 at doubles, partnering with Agatha Palider for an undefeated road trip.
