MACON, Ga. - The Stetson Hatters opened conference play last weekend with a 7-0 shutout of rival FGCU. Junior Valentina Galbarini notched a pair of victories in the match, both at the number one position, including a straight-sets singles triumph. On Wednesday, Galbarini earned the first Player of the Week honor of her career the conference office announced.

Galbarini's performance at the top of the lineup was key in Stetson's Atlantic Sun-opening 7-0 sweep of FGCU at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center on Saturday that doubled as Stetson's first win of the season overall. Galbarini first paired with Unnati Purushotham to drop Priscillia Villemond and Joanne Power 8-5 at No. 1 doubles, and then double-dipped on Villemond at No. 1 singles with a 6-4, 7-5 win in straight sets.
