JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville steamrolled through Saturday’s track events - winning every event from the 100-meter dash up to the 1,500-meter run - as they claimed their fifth consecutive Atlantic Sun Conference Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Saturday from UNF’s Hodges Stadium.

Jacksonville’s Unique Singleton set the Championship record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.80. Danielle Davenport’s second-place finish gave Jacksonville the top two spots in the event. Singleton claimed another conference crown, winning the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.29, edging teammate Charlene Charles. Charles, who took the long jump title Friday, finished 0.07 seconds behind her fellow Dolphin.

Charles earned three of the championship superlative honors, Most Outstanding Track Performer, Most Outstanding Freshman Performer and Most Valuable Performer. Kennesaw State’s Suzee Mills earn the Field Performer honors leading the Owls to a second-place finish. Jacksonville head coach Ron Grigg picked up his fifth Coach of the Year accolade.

Kennesaw State’s Jill Arthur took home the triple jump title, establishing a conference-meet record mark of 12.60-meters. Arthur bested Campbell’s Nadia Natt, who finished second with a mark of 11.97m.

Charles continued to collect conference crowns on Saturday, winning the 100-meter hurdles. The Jacksonville freshman also took second in the 100m dash, while teammate Louise Kiernan took the top honor. The Dolphins’ showing in that event gave the five-time champs their first lead of Saturday.

After taking the lead, the Dolphins never looked back, Joane Pierre took the top spot in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:12.89 while teammate Amalia Vogler ran a 2:13.89 to finish second.

In the 3,000-meter steeplechase Aubrey Alexander of Belmont claimed the conference title with a time of 11:32.36. The Bruins’ senior trailed UNF’s Hillary Adams until the final lap when Alexander overtook Adams on the back stretch to claim the title, Adams took second with a time of 11:40.71.

In the 4x100-meter relay, Jacksonville jumped out to an early lead and took the team title in a time of 45.16. Charles crossed the line for the Dolphins ahead of UNF’s SaLydia James, who brought the Ospreys in with a second-place finish time of 46.39.
