DES MOINES, Iowa – ETSU's pair of Duronal Monal and Jason Johnson plus Kennesaw State's Suzee Mills will represent the Atlantic Sun at the 2010 USA Outdoor Championships this weekend on the campus of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, beginning on Thursday.

Monal, a three-time Atlantic Sun Conference champion in the 100m and a two-time gold medalist in the 200m, will race both events this weekend in Iowa. The Belle Glade, Fla. native qualified for the 100m event after turning in a time of 10.26 at the Tennessee Invitational back on May 8. Monal’s first round 100m race will be contested Thursday evening at 8:35 p.m. The 2010 Most Outstanding Track Performer will also compete in the 200m Saturday evening at 5:05 p.m.

Meanwhile, as Monal is competing on track, Johnson will be appearing in the Junior Championships of the triple jump. Johnson secured his qualifying mark in the event after posting a leap of 47-01.25 (14.37m) last month at the A-Sun Championships. The Springfield, Pa. native will compete in the finals of the event Friday at 2:20 p.m.

Mills, who is a native of Hoschton, Ga., qualified for the prestigious meet by way of hitting qualifying marks in both the hammer and the discus. Her 45.85 meter discus throw, which won her the Atlantic Sun Conference Outdoor Championship in the event, surpassed the 45.50 meter standard necessary to compete at Junior Nationals. She qualified for the Hammer Throw a week earlier, passing the 48.00 meters necessary to qualify at the Georgia Invitational in Athens, Ga., with a throw of 48.45 meters. Mills will compete in the Hammer Throw on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Central Time, and will compete in the Discus Throw on Friday at 1:30 p.m. Central.
