Tuesday, June 07, 2011 MACON, Ga. - Kennesaw State's Josh McNair and the duo of Ecaterina Gheorghiu and Brianna Frazier from UNF are set to compete in the 2011 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa at Drake University's historic Drake Stadium. McNair qualified in the men's shot put with a toss of 17.85 (58’ 6.75”) meters at the NCAA East Preliminary Round. The 20th-ranked qualifier in the shot put, McNair competes in flight one on Friday, June 10th at 5:30 p.m. CT. McNair has broken the school record in the shot three times this season. Frazier, a freshman, qualified in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.19 to earn herself a spot at the national meet. The 2011 A-Sun Indoor and Outdoor Most Outstanding Freshman Performer, runs in the 400m on Wednesday, June 8th at 6:45 p.m. in the semifinals, where she will try to advance to the finals on Friday at 7:55 p.m. Frazier enters competition with the 13th best time. Gheorghiu's time of 10:10.35 in the 3,000m Steeplechase gave her the top time in her heat at the preliminary round and ranks her 14th entering the national competition. She bested her own school record at the east regional meet by 20 seconds. The steeplechase semifinals are set for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 9th with the finals two days later at 12:54 p.m. Live results and more championship information can be found at NCAA.com.
