MACON, Ga. - Lipscomb's Kendra Lobley and North Florida's won the Atlantic Sun Women's Track and Field Performer of the Week Honors, announced Wednesday by the league office. Lobley broke the school record in the 3,000-meter run by 27 seconds, while King vaulted to a program-record height in the pole vault at the FSU Relays.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:
Kendra Lobley, Lipscomb (Fr. – Distances – Poland, Maine – Bio-chemistry)
- Second Career Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week Honor
- Broke the school record in the 3,000m run by 27 seconds at Vanderbilt Black and Gold Meet
- Became first Bison to break the 10-minute mark in event
- Now owns three Lipscomb records (3,000m; 5,000m; 3,000m SC)
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Carolyne Chelulei (Sr., USC Upstate) – Broke Upstate record at Catamount Classic in 3,000m SC (11:25.67)
- Emani Harrison (So., ETSU) – Won the 100m dash at Catamount Classic (11.85); took third in 200m (25.09)
- Alyssa Brandt (Fr., North Florida) – Recorded personal best in 1,500m run (4:34.97) at FSU Relays
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:
Christina King, North Florida (Sr. – Pole Vault – Port Orange, Fla. – Public Relations and Mathematics)
- Second Career A-Sun Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week award
- Broke school record in pole vault at FSU Relays
- King's height of 12'11.5 (3.95m) earned her second place in event
- Ranks as 22nd best mark in the nation and best in A-Sun
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Katerina Vodova (Fr., ETSU) – Set personal records in the long jump and shot put at Georgia Relays
- Suzee Mills (Jr., Kennesaw State) – Won first place in hammer throw (48.76m) at Georgia Relays
- Breana Kwasnik (Fr., USC Upstate) – Placed sixth in pole vault at Catamount Class (10'6)
