MACON, Ga. - Lipscomb's Dani Walker and Jacksonville's Kree Clark marked fist-place finishes to earn Atlantic Sun Track and Field Weekly Honors, announced by the conference on Wednesday.
Walker continued her dominance on the track, finishing first in the 800m, while the Dolphins freshman Clark earned a victory in the discuss in her first outdoor meet.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:
Dani Walker, Lipscomb (Jr. – Distance – Wichita, Kan. – Kinesiology)
- Fifth Career Track Athlete of the Week award; third this year
- Continued her dominance on the track by making the podium in Lipscomb's first outdoor meet of the season.
- Finished first-place in the 800m with a time of 2:08.33
Set a new school record and beat second place by more than five seconds.
- Currently ranks No. 1 in the A-Sun this outdoor season.
OTHER NOMINEES:
- LeTonya Payne (Jr., Jacksonville) – Won the 400m hurdles at the UNF Spring Break Open in a time of 1:01.34
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:
Kree Clark (Fr. – Throws – Conyers, Ga.)
- First Career Field Athlete of the Week award
- Won the discuss in her first ever collegiate outdoor meet
- Recorded a throw of 149.08 feet on her run to the podium
- Currently ranks No. 1 in the A-Sun this outdoor season.
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Kelly Monteleone (Sr., ETSU) – Marked 12.16m leap in the triple jump
