Alexander/Walls Grab A-Sun Track & Field Weekly Honors

MACON, Ga. - ETSU's Nicole Alexander and USC Upstate's Brittany Walls received Atlantic Sun Weekly Track and Field Honors after strong performances at the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic.

Alexander collected two podium finishes for the Buccaneers, while Walls recorded an Upstate record in the heptathlon with 3,870 points.

TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:
Nicole Alexander, ETSU
(So. – Hurdles – Rock Hill, S.C. – Sport Management)
  • First Career Track Athlete of the Week award
  • Landed on the podium twice at Beynon Sports Catamount Classic
  • Notched a first-place finish in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.82
  • Finished third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:05.80
  • Ranks in the top-six in the A-Sun this spring in the 100m hurdle and the 400m hurdle
OTHER NOMINEES:
  • Dominique Nock (Fr., USC Upstate) – Claimed third in the 100-meter at the Catamount Classic with a season-best time of 12.17

Brittany Walls, USC Upstate (So. – Multis – Chester, S.C. – Nursing)
  • First Career Field Athlete of the Week award
  • Collected a third-place in the heptathlon at the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic last weekend
  • Marked a school record with 3,870 points
  • Currently ranks first the A-Sun in the heptathlon this season
  • Set a program record in the high jump portion of the heptathlon, clearing 1.6m
