Jacksonville's Grooms Named Athlete of the Week
Date Posted: 3/27/2006 Macon, Ga. -- Jacksonville's Janel Grooms cruised to the Atlantic Sun Athlete of the Week Award after great 400M hurdle performance.The Gulf Breeze, Fla. native won her third consecutive event this past weekend at the Hurricane Invitational by posting a time of 1:00.17, breaking a school record and bettering the NCAA regional qualifying standard. The Atlantic Sun Athlete of the Week is announced every Wednesday during the 2006 outdoor track season. The 11-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida and Stetson.  |
