Macon, Ga. -- Campbell's Tara Dressler was named Atlantic Sun Athlete of the Week
Award today after setting a new school record.
Dressler shattered the Campbell school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase
and surpassed the NCAA regional mark, with a time of 10:39.06 at the Raleigh Relays.
Her time was two seconds better than the old mark set by Alicia Valtin.
Dressler is from Calgary, Alberta and is majoring in psychology.
The Atlantic Sun Athlete of the Week is announced every Wednesday during the
2006 outdoor track season.
The 11-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell,
ETSU, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb,
Mercer, North Florida and Stetson.
