Macon, Ga. -- Kennesaw State's Patrina Hayes was named Atlantic Sun Athlete of
the Week Award today by the conference office.
The senior from Pontiac, Mich., won the 10,000 meters and the 5,000 meters at
the Jacksonville State Invitational over the weekend. Hayes handily won the 10,000
in 35:28.12 and the 5,000 in 17:12.
Hayes is the league leader in both events going into the Outdoor Championships.
The 2006 Atlantic Sun Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held April
14-15 at the National Training Center in Clermont, Fla.
The Atlantic Sun Athlete of the Week is announced every Wednesday during the
2006 outdoor track season.
The 11-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell,
ETSU, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb,
Mercer, North Florida and Stetson.
