MACON, Ga. - Jacksonville's Shaquania Lundy met regional qualifying standards in the long jump and the triple jump over the weekend at the Pepsi Florida Relays to earn her first Atlantic Sun Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honor, the conference announced on Wednesday.

Lundy, a junior from Aurora, Colo., registered a long jump of 20-10.75 (6.37m), enough for third place in the event. She defeated fellow Dolphin Natasha Harvey, who also turned in a regional qualifying effort of 19-10.25 (6.05m). Lundy currently owns the fourth-best long jump in the nation.

A sociology major, Lundy followed her third-place finish in the long jump by placing first in Section “B” of the triple jump. Her bound of 40-07.00 (12.37m) allowed her to achieve her second regional qualifying standard of the weekend. Lundy placed second at the 2008 Atlantic Sun Indoor Track and Field Championships in both the long jump and the triple jump, behind Harvey.
